We offer a warranty with all products, which is defined by Australian Consumer Law.

If you think there is a fault with the kayak please contact us immediately.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

5 Year Limited Warranty on the Hull of Select Kayaks

5 Year Limited Warranty

This warranty is effective from 26 October 2016. It applies only to selected models of kayak purchased directly from Dream Kayaks on or after this date. It applies only to specified models.

Dream Kayaks now offers a 5 year limited warranty on the hull of selected kayaks. This warranty applies to the following models: The Beast Kayak only. No other models are covered by this warranty.

This warranty means the plastic hull of your kayak will be free of any manufacturing defects in workmanship and materials for five years from the day of purchase, and if it is not we will replace it, refund it, or repair it for you. This warranty does not apply to fixtures or fittings.

This warranty shall be effective from the date of purchase via our website or Dream Kayaks shop. Claims can only be made under this warranty by the person who originally purchased the kayak. The purchase receipt or invoice must be provided with other claim details.

In the event that a claim against this warranty is granted, Dream Kayaks reserves the right to choose whether the final warranty resolution is repair, replacement or refund.

When a customer successfully makes a claim under this warranty, and Dream Kayaks elects to bring the kayak back for the purpose of replacement, refund or repair, the kayak must be returned to a Dream Kayaks facility (i.e., affiliated warehouse or shop). If the kayak is located within 60km of a Dream Kayaks facility, the customer will be required to bring the kayak to the Dream Kayaks facility in their own time and at their own expense. If the kayak is located further than 60km from a Dream Kayaks facility, Dream Kayaks will arrange transportation of the kayak from the customer to a Dream Kayaks facility and will cover the cost of this transportation up to AU$150. Reimbursements of the costs of transport arranged or paid for by the customer will not be made. Transportation of the repaired or replaced kayak from a Dream Kayaks outlet or affiliated warehouse back to the customer will not be covered by Dream Kayaks.

This warranty does not apply if the damage or fault is caused by one of the following activities or phenomena.

  •     normal wear and tear,
  •     abuse or poor maintenance,
  •     any alterations or modifications (other than those carried out by Dream Kayaks),
  •     poor storage or anchorage,
  •     transportation of kayaks,
  •     failure to follow procedures and instructions provided on our website at http://www.dreamkayaks.com.au/kayak-care/
  •     commercial use of kayaks, such as kayak hire or/and the like;
  •     a freight company, other than the first delivery of the kayak from a Dream Kayaks facility to the customer immediately after purchase. We do cover damage caused by the freight company during the first delivery immediately after purchase, if and only if that delivery was arranged by us and paid directly by Dream Kayaks. No other subsequent damage caused by freight is covered,
  •     use of the kayak for unusual activities or any activity other than kayaking, kayak fishing, and storage.
